that’s what the SEIU and others unions are about to try to do. It’s the Everest of organizing, and many think it would single-handedly reenergize America’s Union movement. Wal-Mart is the biggest employer in the United States but they are notorious for going to whatever means necessary to stop their employees from organizing for collective rights.
Unions are essential, because they equal out the negotiating playing field between workers and their employers. The fall of the Union Movement, while to a certain extent self-inflicted through corruption and incompetence, has been terrible for the American worker.
